Paid plans are paid by the year and renew automatically each year until you cancel; Spotlight renews at $229 a year after the first. Cancel any time from your dashboard: the plan runs to the end of the year you paid for, and unused time is not refunded. Billing and cancellation.

Ask a question- Is the free listing really free?
- Yes. No card, no renewal and no expiry. A free listing shows your name, address, phone, hours and map, and it appears on your category and neighbourhood pages like every other listing.
- How do I start a paid plan?
- Sign in, open your listing on your dashboard and choose Upgrade. You pay for a year on Whop’s checkout page, and the plan turns on as soon as the payment goes through. Not listed yet? Add or claim your business first. Stuck? Send us a message.
- My business is already on ViaOttawa. Do I add it again?
- No. Find it and claim it from its page, so the details are yours to edit. Add a business only when it is not listed yet.
- Why does Spotlight cost more in its first year?
- The first year includes designing and building a website for your business. Each year after that is $229: it keeps the website online and up to date, and keeps every Spotlight placement. If your Spotlight plan ends and you come back within 60 days, you pay $229 again, because we kept your website; after that it is $529.
- What does the Spotlight website include?
- One website of up to 5 pages, from one design, built from your listing and the content you send within 30 days. You see a preview and may ask for up to 3 rounds of changes within 14 days of it. Once live, we update it whenever your business details change, for as long as you keep Spotlight. You can connect a domain you own at no extra cost. Forms, a shop, more pages or a new design are extra work we quote separately; they are not part of the plan. The full details are in the terms.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Your listing goes back to a free listing. Your logo, your own description, website link, email, social links, Verified mark and Spotlight extras stop showing, it leaves the paid places on the site, and a Spotlight website is paused. Your listing keeps everything, so it all comes back when you renew; a Spotlight website is deleted if the plan is not renewed within 60 days.
- Do the prices include tax?
- No tax is added. The price shown, in Canadian dollars for the year, is the price you pay.
